A unique opportunity has arisen to appoint an Air Quality Support Officer at Liverpool City Council. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and provide specialist support to deliver air quality improvements across the City.
They will support the deliver the City Council’s Air Quality priority initiatives and actively support the Members of the Corporate AQ Task Group to implement specific projects where additional expertise and staff resource is required, in particular:
- Liaison with specialist consultants and DEFRA regarding AQ monitoring
- Improved Corporate air quality monitoring and progress reporting
- Effective behavioural change and awareness campaign support
The successful candidate will work with internal and external partners, with community organisations and with the public to promote the widest level of engagement in the drive to reduce harmful emissions.
They will support Senior Managers in the preparation and presentation of regular progress reports to Elected Members and Senior Directors and be expected to represent Liverpool City Council at sub-regional, regional and national meetings, seminars, forums and working groups on this project and agenda.
To be shortlisted applicants must have a degree or formal qualification in relevant technical discipline and substantive experience of working effectively with transportation, environmental managers and air quality professionals to reduce emissions.
