THE ROLE

The Advertising Product team sits within the Digital News and Streaming group and has ownership of ad product decisions and the delivery of them to our customers across all media. It leads on format ideation, adserving, inventory management, audience segmentation, campaign delivery, demand partnerships including programmatic advertising and the technology needed to deliver ads effectively and efficiently. The team works closely with our UX, design, content and commercial teams as well as technical delivery units to ensure we have best in class, premium ad products delivering for our customers across the Globe on all platforms including linear, digital, video and audio.

As part of a growing and dynamic team, the Delivery Manager will use their experience to effectively organize multiple workstreams and help us to continually deliver on our roadmap, keeping us aligned with other lines of business and their timelines. Given the size of the team (50), this role is a key position to ensure we are all aligned with our approach as we go through the different stages of the product life cycle and to ensure we deliver innovative products to our sales business.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the delivery process of the advertising product across a range of disciplines, ensuring the team understands goals and outcomes.
  • Drive an agile methodology and mentality and embed it within the team.
  • Maintain momentum of various workstreams and manage blockers and risks, ensuring we are delivering to target timelines.
  • In conjunction with ad product, technology and operations teams, ensure the roadmap is managed, with a cycle of delivery across the group.
  • Bring the right people across the business together, and enable communication across the group to meet requirements.
  • Seek to continually improve working practices by partnering with the BBC's project management community.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

  • Understand the different phases of product delivery and be able to contribute to, plan and run these phases across many workstreams in the ad product team portfolio.
  • Be adept at breaking down barriers within a matrixed organization, in order to enable action and efficiency, with an ability to plan at a higher levels as well as get into details, as well as manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Provide insight and support to process strategy, supplier and budget management.
  • Support a high-performance team mindset and know how to build a cohesive working culture where teams trust each other and work towards a common goal.
  • Excellent communicator and listener. Interpersonal and influencing skills that have the ability to bridge disciplines with user-friendly language.
  • Experienced, diplomatic communicator, able to ensure tone and language ensures process, need, approach and outcomes are clearly understood.
  • Knowledge of agile practices and how to apply them.
  • Able to encourage positive changes to the team.
  • Agile and adaptable, able to work cross-functionally and occasionally on international time zones.
  • Data literate, with the ability to present work in an interesting an engaging manner.
  • Strong IT skills across project management and process design software and typical productivity suites and communications tools.
  • An interest or experience of working in a cross-media publisher or ad technology platform an advantage.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Working Pattern: Hybrid Working (Mix of working from home plus two/three days a week in the office).
