Our client
On behalf of our esteemed client, a well-established privately owned developer, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Land Buyer/Manager. Our client has a stellar reputation for delivering exceptional housing, low & high-rise apartments, and hotels throughout North West England. They are committed to quality, community-led, and sustainable development.
The role
As a Land Buyer/Manager, working closely with the Managing Director, you will be instrumental in sourcing and securing land for various development projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Strong knowledge of the market with a growing individual network of contacts within the industry. This will be required in order to maintain and expand the company's contact base with preferably land owners and local authorities but also relevant agencies.
- Understanding constraints and opportunities commercially and technically with regard to land interests.
- Be able to support and assist with formulation and management of offers, co-ordination of investigations, negotiation with local authorities, agents, solicitors and third parties.
- Procure technical, legal and development information to liaise and instruct internal and external parties to appraise site opportunities and constraints.
- Liaison with landowners and agents over progress on site promotion to establish positive relationships.
- Technical ability and a good understanding of the planning process and planning system throughout the region along with building & maintaining positive relationships.
- Ability to manage external consultants for the submission of planning applications and appeals if required.
- Engage in negotiations with officers, local community groups and other stakeholders at both pre-application and post-application submission stages, including attendance at meetings where necessary.
Candidate requirements
- At least 3 years experience, preferably in residential development and from a land and/or planning background.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Experience dealing with land owners & agents.
- Experience of residential planning requirements & procedures.
- Excellent networking & negotiation skills.

Salary & package
Negotiable salary in the region of 60,000 + full package (car allowance, 25 days hols + BH's & birthday, 5% pension contributions)
