Job Summary:
The Stock Manager is responsible for managing inventory levels, analysing inventory performance, and ensuring optimal stock levels. This role involves working closely with various departments including finance, procurement, production, sales, and logistics to maintain a balanced inventory that meets customer needs without incurring unnecessary costs. In slow periods, involvement in light assembly of cable assemblies would be required (full training provided).
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Inspecting Goods:
Receive and unload incoming goods and materials from suppliers;
Inspect deliveries for accuracy, quality, and damage and report any discrepancies or issues;
Record and document received items in the inventory management system.
Order Fulfilment:
Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch according to customer or internal requirements;
Ensure that orders are accurately fulfilled and that the correct items and quantities are dispatched;
Coordinate with the shipping department to schedule and prepare shipments.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and analyse inventory levels;
Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels;
Ensure that inventory is sufficient to meet demand without overstocking.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Prepare regular inventory reports for management, highlighting key metrics such as turnover rates, stock levels and slow-moving inventory;
Analyse inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies and areas for improvement;
Utilise ERP system and Excel to track and analyze data.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment of stock;
Coordinate with production teams to align inventory with manufacturing schedules;
Work with logistics to manage inbound and outbound shipments and optimize warehouse operations.
Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate and improve inventory management processes and systems;
Lead or participate in projects aimed at enhancing inventory accuracy and efficiency;
Implement best practices for inventory control and management.
Qualifications:
Experience:
1-2 years of experience in a supply chain analysis or a logistics role (including stores);
Experience with inventory management or ERP software.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail;
Strong communication and team skills;
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred:
Experience in the manufacturing sector;
Understanding of Python or Microsoft Visual Basic.
