RM Recruit are excited to be working with a Birmingham based organisation who are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team on a temporary, full-time basis for circa 2 months with the scope for it to become permanent. This is a remote working role with the office presence set at once or twice per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Supporting budget monitoring, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Processing accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
- Reconciling balance sheets and supporting month-end close
- Assisting with financial reporting and analysis for management review
- Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc financial projects and tasks
- Appropriately challenge budget holders so that they can achieve their corporate objectives.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors on relevant audit work.
- Assist in preparation of reports to the Executive Team and the Group Board.
- To represent the Finance team and Group at external meetings as required.
Person Specification:
- Part-qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Previous experience in a similar management accounting or finance support role
