The Associate Product Manager at American Express is an exciting opportunity to drive the vision, strategy, and development for our cutting edge digital products and applications. The Associate Product Manager role requires you to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of a product or application. What type of work can you expect?
  • Contribute to the product vision, strategy, and value proposition.
  • Conduct market and user research, identify market trends, and evaluate the competitive landscape to identify opportunities to further enhance the product value proposition.
  • Collect and synthesize product data to drive actionable insights and steer the product strategy.
  • Partner with Delivery and Technology teams to groom, prioritize, and execute on the product backlog in an agile environment.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., engineering, data, analytics, other product management teams, etc.) to deliver results as a cross-functional team.
  • Support the development of new and emerging products, services, features and/or technology applications and platforms, including writing user stories, defining personas, writing features, etc.
  • Manage projects from concept through execution by partnering with the necessary teams to shape a rich and engaging customer experience.
Skills/Experience
  • Strong interest in the payments industry, digital products, and product management.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to distill down complex concepts or problems.
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to continually learn about the changing payments landscape and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with and build strong relationships with leaders, colleagues in different time zones, and cross-functional partners to deliver value beyond traditional means.
  • Strong project management skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Proficient in analytical and presentation tools, including MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated resilience, proactive problem solving, 'can do' attitude, and optimism in changing circumstances.
  • Ability to multi-task effortlessly and manage competing priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity, and rapid change.
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo and driving continuous process improvement.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in full-time Bachelor's degree program.
  • Students must have a graduation date between December 2022 and June 2023.
  • Experience in the payments industry is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL and/or Hive is a plus.
