My client, the territorial force responsible for law enforcement and the prevention of crime in Greater London, seek an Administrator to be based in their Sidcup offices and to start an ongoing temp booking asap!
Key Responsibilities
Uses specialist knowledge to make informed decisions in relation to the disclosure of personal data held by the client requested by applicants under the Right of Access provisions of the Data Projection Act 2018 (DPA) and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the NPCC/ABI Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Considers and applies exemptions to information held by the client requested as part of a right of access request in order to assess whether the personal data can be disclosed in its entirety, partially disclosed or completely withheld. The consideration requires detailed knowledge of DPA legislation and the ability to make risk based assessments on the information gathered with regards to the impact any such release has on the client
Ensures that the processing of right of access requests and MOU requests are completed in accordance with the legislation's statutory timeframe. This requires the ability to deal with a large number of requests, which are at different stages of the process, contemporaneously.
Reviews and makes decisions regarding disclosure on investigations ranging the entire spectrum of policing, such as Fraud, Murder, Kidnap, Anti-Terrorism and many more very complex and often sensitive investigations. This requires the ability to understand the information being considered for disclosure in order to engage relevant exemptions using legislative knowledge.
Provides advice and updates to applicants via telephone or in writing in accordance with the legislation ensuring that third party data is not inadvertently disclosed.
Conducts reviews of CCTV & custody footage using legislative knowledge to make decisions on disclosure and redactions. Maybe required to perform redactions on that footage.
Utilises knowledge of Freedom of Information (FOI) to identify any questions within a right of access request that may fall under FOI that need to be dealt with as such and liaises with the correct team in order for the request to be logged.
Manages a large workload with varying statutory deadlines requiring flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
Utilises IT systems such as word, excel and outlook to communicate, organise, track request deadlines, producing reports and statistics where necessary.
Attends regular Team Meetings and provides feedback as requested by the Team Leaders or Senior Managers in relation to the requests they are processing.
Supports the administration team by providing advice using their specialist legislation knowledge with regard to the requests they are currently dealing with.
Provides advice and support to newer role holders under a buddy system.
Other duties as required.
Previous experience is not necessary and full training will be given, knowledge of FOI and GDPR is advantageous but not essential. Great opportunity for someone at the start of their career.
Working onsite until fully trained, then remote working 2 days per week. training takes approximately 6 weeks .
Rate increases to £16.68 & OT after 12 weeks.
