We have an exciting opportunity for an Agile Product Owner to join our UK Claims Solutions business to lead and drive a programme of product enhancements. You will monitor performance and communicate daily with a large and varied stakeholder group, including customers and senior management.

About the Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the Role

  • To define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities, aligned to a customer led strategy supported by a sustainable business model.
  • To maintain a Product Roadmap and lead quarterly business reviews/ big room planning.
  • To facilitate constant communication between those who want work done and those who can do the work.
  • Collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyse needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals.
  • Work closely with customers, account managers and business teams to create and maintain a healthy product backlog according to business value or ROI.
  • Remain up to date on trends and best practices for agile project management.
  • Works with Product Manager and business to elicit, define, manage, and track the requirements of the product.
  • Works with customers and the business to prioritize features according to business value.
  • Ensures that Verisk Claims UK business stakeholders are fully engaged and communicated to at all times.
  • Produces user stories using INVEST criteria.
  • Pulls together communications materials and keeps track of the functional & non-functional requirements and scope for the team.
  • Facilitate discussions between the scrum team and the customer when necessary.
  • Accept or reject the functional deliverables from the scrum team on behalf of the Customer.
  • Line management of a small team of business and test analysts, including setting objectives and supporting training plans.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a product owner in an agile software delivery environment.
  • Relevant and current Agile Certification.
  • Experience of having discovered and delivered opportunities within an organisation with primary responsibility for a product road-map definition and agile delivery.
  • Experience of project and product delivery with cross-functional teams, able to overcome/adapt to unforeseen challenges to meet commitments.
  • Understand costs vs value and clearly communicates and prioritises delivery accordingly.
  • Solving complex problems; taking a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the techniques and methods of product discovery and product delivery.
  • Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to influence and engage direct reports and peers.
  • Experience of management, mentoring and coaching a team whilst driving a high-performance culture.
  • Highly evolved communication skills and an ability to translate technical information into business language.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively & drive innovation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and JIRA.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Project management skills and attention to detail.
  • An energetic, tenacious, results-orientated approach.
