Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit an Architect/Architectural Technician for long term construction and design projects on a salary of £33,446 - £38,855/annum. This role will hybrid working with currently a minimum of 2 days onsite per week.Client happy to consider candidates with architect experience or architectural technician with technical knowledge and experience in a supporting role.Responsibilities:- Supporting architectural teams in production of architectural or technical design.- Working within multi-disciplinary design teams in delivery of major capital projects.- Leading smaller capital projects through design and construction in accordance with RIBA plan of work.- Providing assistance to an Assistant Group Manager and senior architectural officers as required. - Administering various forms of construction contract.- Producing drawings, specifications and presentation material for design and construction.- Potential workload will include projects from the organisation and include new build and upgrade of community facilities, the refurbishment and adaptation of listed buildings and a programme of new waste & recycling facilities.Essential Skills:- Educated to degree or other appropriate qualification in building design related subject.- Good technical design skills. - Good architectural design skills- Competent in Microstation and Revit.- Good verbal communication skills.- Good drawing and visual presentation skills.- Knowledge of architect's and lead designer's duties at all stages of the design and construction process.- Knowledge of planning process and Building Standards.- Knowledge of current good practice, guidance and legislation in relation to building design.- Knowledge of legal and contractual issues in relation to construction.- You get on well with people, by explaining your ideas clearly, so that they understand you.- You speak confidently and hold people's attention.- You share relevant and important information on time, with your team.- You choose the best way of communicating (such as writing or face-to-face) and use the right words for your audience and situation.- You produce clear, concise and easily understood written communications.- You make sensible decisions after getting all the information you need and thinking about alternative options.- You know when to ask your manager for help, but you also suggest the action(s) you could take.- You're focused on what you need to achieve, and not distracted by less important things.- You're responsible for your own decisions- You organise and plan events, activities and resources, to make sure that projects or goals are met within agreed timescales and budgets.- You balance any conflicting priorities when you need to.- You don't give up easily when you've got a job to do, or a difficult problem to solve.- You keep problems in perspective.- You deal with both the difficult and boring aspects of your job, and don't put off doing things.- You try to get everyone to work together and help to create a sense of team spirit.- You recognise when other people need support, and you offer to help them.Desirable Skills:- Membership of a relevant professional institute- Competent in NBS, Photoshop, SketchUp and InDesign.- Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary design team.- Knowledge of current architectural design theory and practice.- You use your own knowledge and experience and assess any risks- You build strong relationships with colleagues and customers, beyond just working together on shared tasks.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
