Our client is looking for an Architectural Technician, who will play a key role in the design and construction process. Working closely with other architects, engineers, and project managers, they will contribute to the development of high-quality residential properties with a Major Housebuilder in the North East.
The primary roles and responsibilities of the role would be as follows:
- Collaborate with architects and other stakeholders to develop design concepts and technical drawings for residential developments.
- Produce detailed architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and construction details, using CAD software.
- Ensure that designs comply with relevant building regulations, planning policies, and industry standards.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to assess existing conditions and gather necessary information for design development.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and building control approvals.
- Work closely with project managers and construction teams to address design-related issues and provide technical support during the construction phase.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of project-related information, including drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in architecture and construction.
Requirements:
- Degree or HND/HNC in Architectural Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Architectural Technician within the residential construction industry or architectural practice.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and other relevant design tools.
- Strong understanding of building regulations, planning policies, and construction methods.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in technical drawings and documentation.
