We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support the newly developed decommissioning team. This area is integral to the future of our business and our ability to deliver on our mission. This role provides the opportunity for you to gain a wide breadth of knowledge across AWE and work on projects from initial contracts stage, right through to working on plant. Your focus will be on supporting the team to meet timescales, monitoring project progress, liaising with delivery partners, and assisting with delivery to cost, quality, and safety.

Location: This role is based at Aldermaston, RG7 4PR. We are located in the Berkshire countryside between Reading and Basingstoke. This role is suitable for hybrid working.
Salary: From £38,140 depending on experience and suitability.

This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post. The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.

As an Assistant Project Manager your role will entail:
- Supporting the project team to achieve key accountabilities by delivering low risk tasks.
- Delivering assigned tasks in accordance with requirements, operational constraints, time, cost, and quality.
- Working within the Client programme delivery team whilst also directly supporting Contractors with the delivery of their decommissioning projects on site.
- Communicating progress and supporting change control to ensure Contractors are achieving their commitments, and the Client is managing its baseline.
- Maintaining and promoting high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality, and be a great team player.

- Awareness of project lifecycle management.
- Experience in communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
- Understanding of project schedule management, dependencies, and risk assessment.
- Ability to effectively prioritise workload, resources, and deadlines within high pressure complex environments.
- A clear and concise communication style with the ability to compile reports and present to peers and Senior Managers.
- Ability to solve problems and deliver results through creative solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Positive attitude and willingness to be hands-on in a fast-paced, growing company.
- Ability to build strong relationships with teams and stakeholders.
- Drive and determination to deliver excellence.
- The desire to develop knowledge and application techniques of project management methodologies.
- Excellent IT skills including MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
