The role involves a variety of projects, for example supporting our supply chain function, managing risks with international expansion, and communicating effectively with shareholders and the city. What will I be doing as an Assistant Tax Manager?
In this Assistant Tax Manager role, you'll be collaborating closely with our Group Tax Manager as part of the wider Finance team. We'll look to you to build and maintain effective relationships to provide advice and offer expert guidance on tax implications for diverse projects, and to understand the wider strategic objectives of the business, and how tax feeds into this.
As an Assistant Tax Manager, you'll be responsible for producing the corporate tax returns, consolidating group VAT returns, enabling accurate forecasting, and updating reporting schedules for internal teams and auditors with continued support and guidance from the Group Tax Manager. You'll also identify opportunities and mitigate risks, present interim tax reports, and optimise processes. Your impact extends to maintaining tax balances, preparing regular papers, and liaising with third-party professionals for efficient tax management, including overseas aspects.

- Qualified ACA/CTA or part-qualified CTA and nearing completion
- Exceptional relationship building and management skills. This is key to the role as you will be expected to deputise for the Group Tax Manager when needed.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to research and condense source material.
