An award winning Kent main contractor (Inc. Best use of BIM) is looking to develop its team by recruiting a BIM Manager who is looking to develop their career.
Key responsibilities for our BIM Manager:
- Preconstruction - You will be a part of the bid team supporting the development of tenders for projects that you will go onto be the BIM Manager for.
- Delivery - Supporting the delivery team from technical point of view in the use of BIM and Design Management tools.
- Commercially aware - Technology in this field is evolving really quickly and we want to make sure we are at the cutting edge of that technology to maximise its potential to deliver more profitable, better designed projects
- Supporting the KTP - They have established a KTP or Knowledge Transfer Partnership with the University of Kent to monitor the performance of their buildings from both a utilities/ carbon footprint point of view and from the point of view of the people using the building. IE: do exam results improve or does staff productivity improve. This then feeds back into the design phase of the next project in order to give clients even better design and better value for money. You will help support this implementation and research
- Team coordination - As well as your technical experience this role is also about taking a leading role in coordinating the various parties involved in the project to deliver the best possible design for the client, for the business and for the supply chain.
- Manage the process - Ensure records are maintained
The ideal, but not essential, experience we are looking for in our new BIM Manager:
- Worked for a main contractor on projects from £5M to £20M
- Worked on new build & refurbishment projects
- Worked on a range of projects. EG: schools, commercial, leisure, luxury housing
- 3+ years experience
- Passion for construction
- Willingness to learn and improve
