NHFM also own the Northumbria Healthcare Manufacturing and Innovation Hub, unique to the NHS, manufacturing hub which creates personal protective equipment (PPE) for staff across the UK.
Job Description
You will bring you expertise in Construction, Facilities, or Engineering to the role of Capital Project Manager, working with a number of PMs at similar level, essential for the successful delivery of minor and major capital projects as part of the Masterplan 2025.
With support from the Senior Project Managers, you will oversee the successful delivery of a wide range of estates capital projects including new build, extension, refurbishment, infrastructure, and technology-based schemes.
Responsibilities will include the development of the Project Brief, Project Cost, Project Structure, Project Plan, Governance and Controls Assurance, Procurement Process, Communications strategy, Negotiations.
You will ensure projects are effectively managed and delivered, minimising impact on clinical services, using a high level of communication and cross-functional working.
You will contribute towards the strategic and operational management of annual capital programme delivery and ensure projects meet performance targets, across time, cost and quality. You will employ and manage a wide range of large multi-disciplinary teams consisting of consultants, contractors and suppliers in addition to stakeholders internally and with the Trust.
The Successful Applicant

A competent project management professional with a background in estates, facilities, capital, engineering, M&E, or similar estates related discipline & project management.

A degree in Construction Project Management or related discipline or a similar level technical or site based qualification would be an advantage. You could be graduate level looking for your first role, or significantly experienced with a trade and projects background or similar.

NHS experience is not essential, but a technical grounding with complex estates projects would be ideal

An excellent communicator at all levels, with knowledge of construction contracts and managing multidisciplinary teams

A person who can see opportunities to overcome challenges, with good commercial insight and excellent and proactive communication skills.
