Commercial Manager

A leading UK-based main contractor is seeking a skilled Commercial Manager to join its dynamic team in Birmingham. With schemes spanning residential, commercial, healthcare and mixed-use developments, this is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping high-profile projects across the region.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the commercial delivery of construction and development projects from pre-construction through to completion
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flows to ensure financial targets are met
• Oversee procurement strategies and subcontractor negotiations
• Provide commercial insight and strategic direction to optimise project performance
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies
• Mentor and support junior commercial staff

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within construction or property development
• Strong understanding of contracts (JCT/NEC) and commercial management principles
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• MRICS/MCIOB qualification is desirable but not essential
