A highly successful building contractor based in the Tameside area currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join the business. The company deliver new build and refurbishment projects up to 8m, predominantly for the Industrial, Commercial and Retail sectors.
As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing several projects, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and driving the successful delivery of contracts from inception to completion. Collaborating closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects.
Duties will include:
- Managing project teams
- Producing project plans and setting programme targets
- Liaising with clients, suppliers and project management teams
- Overseeing the selection of project sub-contractors
- Working with the commercial team to ensure project financial targets are met
- Responsible for health, safety and environmental standards being implemented and maintained
- Development and training of staff
To be considered for the above role as Contracts Manager, applicants must have the following:
- Previous Contracts Management experience working for Main Contractors.
- Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering a wide range of construction projects
- Detailed knowledge of construction methods and technology
- Strong people management skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- Ability to plan and programme construction projects
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- IT literate
