Deliver change where it matters: Counter Terrorism Policing
To stay one step ahead of terrorist threats, policing must evolve continuously. That means change is hugely important, and requires skilled experts. As a Benefits Manager, you'll join the national Change team in the Counter Terrorism Policing HQ (CTPHQ), where you'll help to deliver projects and programmes that help us keep people across the UK safe from terrorism. With national security at stake, your skills will be crucial. Joining our rapidly growing Portfolio Office and Change Management team, we're looking for a Benefits Manager, to help manage a complex and diverse portfolio of projects and programmes. We are looking for proactive and enthusiastic team members who have some experience in Benefits Management within a project, programme or portfolio environment. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day application of the benefits management framework, approach, standards and processes, to ensure identification and realisation of financial and non-financial benefits from the CTP Change portfolio. This role will work closely with the CTPHQ Performance and Finance Teams, Project Managers and Business Change Managers, as well as colleagues in the CTPHQ Portfolio Office.
You will have a varied role, where no two days are the same. You will have responsibilities for both Benefits Management and the unpinning centre of excellence material required to support successful delivery. You will join the team with a broad understanding of benefits and with training and support will become a specialist in your field.
The ideal candidate would:
- Understand the principles of benefits management and the relevant tools and techniques.
- Be able to work across multiple projects or programmes with the ability to prioritise your workload effectively.
- Have experience analysing information (e.g. in performance and/or finance), with the ability to extract relevant information from Business Cases, presentations and other documentation.
- Be confident communicating with people at all levels.
- Be able to facilitate groups, balancing conflicting opinions, building consensus as necessary.
- Provide coaching and guidance to promote adherence to standards.
- Work well both as part of a team, or on your own.
You might also have some experience:
- Establishing and implementing benefits management processes within a large project, programme or portfolio environment.
- Applying programme and project management approaches such as MSP and PRINCE2 in a large project, programme or portfolio environment.
- Working in (local) government, a security agency or policing.
