You will be joining a supported accommodation project which takes a client centred holistic approach to provide care, support, education, housing, and other related services to their service users. Supporting Children and young adults across their services to take steps towards independence and fostering a smooth transition in adult life. With your new company currently expanding, they are looking to onboard new, experienced talented staff into their teams. Due to internal promotion, they are recruiting for a new Deputy care manager that has experience working with children in a residential setting and NVQ/QCF level 5 held or in process. Your New Role

Working under the direction of the Home Manager to actively contribute to the provision of quality care, within which the health, welfare, education and development of children and young people is promoted. To work in collaboration with the team to ensure that the home meets all regulatory and statutory requirements. Lead shifts and oversee staff management and supervision, care and placement planning, safeguarding, communications, report writing and monitoring quality and compliance. To follow and act in accordance with all relevant aspects of legislation, regulation, and the company's policies and procedures. Ensuring an understanding of how such issues are interpreted and followed in practice, keeping up to date with changes as they occur. Work professionally and in partnership with parents, social workers, agencies and other professionals of parenting young people. Support and facilitate contact with family members where appropriate. Safeguarding: Promote and maintain a culture of safeguarding and child protection within the children's home. Ensure all staff are aware of and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures. These are to be discussed in regular supervision / team meetings and through coaching and mentoring the staff. As instructed by the Manager to work proactively with and direct the team within the daily routine and agreed structures of the house, to include for example day to day parenting responsibilities, undertaking daily household responsibilities such as domestic tasks (cleaning, washing, ironing etc.), cooking, shopping, taking young people to appointments/meetings, planning the day and participation in activities (including physical activities such as sport) with the young people. To deliver support sessions, ensuring individual placement plans are fulfilled, and risk assessments adhered to. Incorporate equality and diversity into the home's culture. Provide every child/young person with individualised positive care and care planning tailored to their individual needs and requirements, as defined in their relevant plans.
What you'll need to succeed
NVQ Level 5+ qualification held or in process is essential Full UK Driver licence is essential for this position. Minimum 2 years' experience in children's residential service Minimum of 1 year's management experience is desirable. Excellent knowledge of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 Excellent level of verbal and written communication skills and numerical skills Experience in dealing with challenging behaviours Motivated to support young people with disabilities to maximise their potential.
