We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Director / Head of Engineering to lead our engineering team in developing innovative mechanical solutions that drive our business forward. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of mechanical design engineering.
This role requires strategic thinking and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
You will have previously worked in a start-up and be able to thrive in such an environment.
The role is offered with a salary of £75 - £90K
Duties
- Oversee the design engineering department, ensuring effective project management and adherence to timelines.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of mechanical design solutions.
- Manage and mentor junior and senior members of the design engineering team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Work closely with other members of the Senior Management Team, particularly projects, sales, operations and installation

- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within an engineering design role
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical design engineering
- A background in either water, leak detection, telecomms or fibre optics
- Experience working in a start up business and the stresses and pressure that come with that environment
- Able and willing to travel internationally when necessary
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively at all levels of the organization.
