We have a new opportunity for a Development Manager to join our team within our Vistry Northern Home Counties region, at our Milton Keynes office. As our Development Manager you will be responsible for the pre-construction phases of development projects, assisting in legal, design and planning issues and coordinating with estimating, mobilisation and construction teams.

    • As a minimum, educated to A level standard or equilavent, or ability to demonstrate relevant experience in a similar position.
    • Proficient in MS Office programmes; particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Experience in a development role within the Construction, Property Development or Housing Industry
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead the development process.
    • Good geographic knowledge of the area
    • Organised and methodical, with good attention to detail
    • Highly numerate with the ability to undertake feasibility appraisals
    • Highly literate and able to understand and interpret complex legal documentation
    • Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritise
    • Able to work under own initiative, having good decision making skills and a keen sense of responsibility

    • Assist the land department in the assessment of new business opportunities.
    • Research and review planning applications, in conjunction with others to identify site constraints and opportunities.
    • Assist with the preparation of land and build contracts, to ensure land is secured and contracts are entered into in line with agreed timescales.
    • Assist the team to prepare consultant appointments and collateral warranties, and to co-ordinate signatures, scan and circulate documents as required.
    • Assist the team to complete paperwork and reports in order to gain internal approvals and ensure audit compliance.
    • Drive the progress of each project by active management and mitigate against slippage, to ensure the Development Programme is delivered to set timescales.
    • Prepare reports and risk registers to gain internal approvals.
    • Prepare reports for external partners.
    • Identify and mitigate against risk and work with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to manage risk pre start on site.
    • Maintain excellent communication with the project team and internal stakeholders to ensure relevant information is correctly shared and circulated, and all actions are progressed in a timely manner.
    • When required, organise and lead/ attend client meetings acting in a professional manner to positively represent the company at all times.
    • Management of several projects, being the lead person in the department to interface with client/Housing Association
    • Manage and collate information packages for handover of dwellings
    • Review and manage the Technical fee registers for a project to ensure budget is adhered to
    • Assist in the setting up of Management Companies for new sites
