We are looking for a virtually based Director, Environment Health Safety & Sustainability leader for the Industrial Business Unit residing in the Industrial Solutions segment who combines professional experience in a comparable role with the affinity to work in a fast-changing environment. This position will provide for a great deal of autonomy on projects and strategies that occur simultaneously and with high priority. With a revenue exceeding $2 billion, we have established a significant presence in key markets across the globe. The industrial business unit is organized into five global product business units, each led by a General Manager. These units are structured for speed and scalability, with decision-making authority, accountability for results, and empowerment to succeed in their respective product markets and drive profitable growth.
The global EHS leader will be a vital part of the operation's senior leadership team, overseeing safety and sustainability across all business units. They will be responsible for;
- Ensure compliance to both relevant environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Transparently reporting EHS performance and achievements.
- Establish a clear sustainability vision and strategy.
- Integrate sustainability into the EHS framework.
- Set clear goals and KPI's.
- Employee training and engaging.
- Partner with legal and actively engage on regulation changes in the different countries we operate.
In this role, they will lead a team of 14 EHS professionals, together will oversee 14 manufacturing locations worldwide with more than 6,500 employees. Their focus will be on developing and implementing actions that deliver short-term results while simultaneously enhancing the long-term EHS & Sustainability capabilities and talent of TE to achieve success. Additionally, the leader will play a pivotal role in integrating acquisitions into TE EHS framework.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in product manufacturing derived of core processes such as plating, metal stampings, plastic injection moulding and machining. They should have a global mindset, exceptional business acumen, leadership experience, and a hands-on approach to safety.

- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the business strategy of the unit and how EHS contribute to its successful execution.
- Collaborate with Operations and functional business owners to refresh the 3-year operations strategy and business plan to achieve zero incidents workplace and achieving the Industrial BU sustainability goals.
- Provide support and monitoring for the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as TRIR, safety audit, SCOPE 3, amongst others.
- Ensure the timely and within-budget execution of major projects, including manufacturing ramp-ups, capital programs, automation initiatives, and footprint migration projects within the business unit.
- Develop and implement talent assessment, talent development plans, and succession plans for the EHS and sustainability teams within the business unit.
An experienced EHS and Sustainability leader with more than 10 years of experience leading this field. Must have extensive knowledge and expertise in influencing safety across complex manufacturing operations in global settings, and familiar with American public companies as well as privately held companies. Must have direct experience in overseeing large global manufacturing operations with a variety of core processes such as stampings, plating, machining, assembly, or plastic injection moulding, with a track record of success.
A hands-on and accountable leader, who can align the organization towards critical actions that drive excellent customer results and financial performance. They should be action-oriented, driven to win, and capable of implementing initiatives that improve operations safety and have a tangible impact on the business. The candidate should be an inspirational executive who empowers and holds their team accountable, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
A bachelor's degree in business or engineering is required, and a Master on sustainability or Safety would be highly advantageous. The following specific requirements further define the desired qualifications:
- Knowledgeable on ISO 140001, ISO 50001 and ISO 45001
- Excellent communications and presentation skills
- Adequate project management skills with solid problem-solving background.
- Well organized, analytical, self-starter with a strong attention to detail.
