This role is highly entrepreneurial and will be at the forefront of delivering value to clients across various regions. You will have the opportunity to define our go-to-market strategy to strengthen dss + positioning and footprint in the utilities Industry (power/energy, water, waste) as well as making a major impact to the execution of our strategy and achievement of dss + ' strategic goals.
What will you do?
As a Director you will lead the utilities industry practice globally as well as take the lead in one market or across specific global client accounts. You are expected to grow, lead and guide the growth of the utilities industry and collaborate with thought leaders to innovate our approach to continue to deliver value for our clients. You will develop and engage a team of Principals, Managers and Consultants with a strong focus on capability development and a high-performance work culture.
- Take an active leadership role in delivering the strategic plan for our utilities practice and continually grow a diversified engagement pipeline within target accounts.
- Manage and enhance relationship with clients, with the objective of positioning the company as a trusted partner. Identify and pursue additional business opportunities.
- Innovate the way we execute complex consulting engagements to ensure the project and deliverables meet or exceed the client's requirements and expectations, delivering superior value to clients.
- Lead the utilities industry network to develop and share best practices.
- Mentor and coach junior colleagues to support their development within the organisation.
- Consistently act with integrity and acquiring new expertise/skills valuable to the firm as required to remain relevant and competitive.
What we are looking for
- Current knowledge of the utilities industry (e.g. overall value chain (power, water, waste, energy), key trends, major players in the market, key risks, challenges and value drivers)
- Experience working in a management consulting firm, ideally combined with hands-on experience in the utilities industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry solutions/best practices in operational risk, operational excellence or sustainability practice lines
- Bring existing relationships with relevant senior leaders/ middle managers in targeted utilities industry accounts
- Direct experience (>10 years) in delivering growth and key services in transforming companies in Utilities segment
- Communicate effectively at C-suite level and ability to effectively drive business development/solution development and/or high quality delivery of key services
- Demonstrated experience coaching, leading and developing talent
- Entrepreneurial spirit, outcomes focused, thriving in a fast-paced, rapidly growing consulting environment.
