DIRECTOR OF ESTATES
This is a permanent opportunity to join a leading education federation with 7 separate schools as a Director of Estates!
Our client is looking for someone that will contribute to and lead the implementation of an estate strategy for the federation. The successful candidate will be working in partnership with the principals and their staff to manage all aspects of properties and facilities including responsibility for maintenance, grounds maintenance, cleaning services, security, health and safety and facilities management in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will be working in partnership with the principals and their staff to manage all aspects of properties and facilities including responsibility for maintenance, grounds maintenance, cleaning services, security, health and safety and facilities management in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
DIRECTOR OF ESTATES ROLE:
- Providing strategic, operational, and technical advice to the Chief Operating Officer on developing and rationalising the Federation estates and facilities, and developing and implementing supporting strategies for maintenance, refurbishment, and construction of new facilities
- Contributing to the setting of the annual budget in collaboration with premises managers and principals, alerting the Chief Operating Officer to any difficulties that may arise
- Seeking continuous improvements in value for money for the Federation in facilities and related services
- Setting appropriate benchmarks for performance and costs, and monitoring accordingly
- Providing timely and accurate financial information to the Chief Operating Officer, including information required to maintain the asset register
- Recruiting, training, appraising, and managing the performance of all premises staff, including monitoring key performance indicators and managing staff rotas
- Planning and managing the construction of new buildings and major refurbishments, paying particular attention to regulatory requirements, quality, compliance with agreed specifications, timescales, safety, and ensuring value for money in all awarded contracts
- Ensuring the maintenance and development of all Federation buildings and associated plant and equipment
- Ensuring the maintenance of all utility supply services to the school, including communications systems
- Reviewing and overseeing the Federation s security measures
- Has been a lead in various building projects
- Experience managing a team of 5 or more
- 2 years minimum working in property/construction
- Knowledge of building regulations and legislation
- Proven ability to deliver on projects within set budgets and deadlines
