Why we need you
This is a newly created role to support our growing business abroad. Reporting to the Engineering and Design Manager in Australia, your key accountabilities will include:
- Providing schematics, general arrangement drawings, detail drawings, models and deliverables as required for all aspects of Marr Contracting's activities.
- Utilise suitable IT equipment and software to produce the required outputs. These will be in the most appropriate 2D/3D formats (from dimensional drawings to the most complex plant engineering).
- Produce documents on a timely basis and ensure that they are accurate and in accordance with industry best practice.
- Maintain and take responsibility for the management of visible and accessible folder structure to ensure all current and archived drawings and deliverables are available for the team to access as required. This folder structure is to be agreed with the Construction Manager.
- Prepare drawings for project submittals including the drafting and management of drawing transmittals.
- Ensure through checking and review that drawings and deliverable are correct dimensionally and formatted as would be deemed consistent with the requirements of the delivery team, clients engineers and third parties, and in accordance with industry best practice.
- Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and other documentation to establish the most authoritative source to establish the requisite drawings.
- Assist management to provide drawing outputs as required to the satisfaction of the Technical Director / SME to facilitate product development.
- Take part in training to ensure that you are adopting the most up to date methods for representing our products to our clients and within our company, whilst growing the teams capability.
Your keys to success
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following attributes:
- Minimum of three years' experience in a similar role within the civil/ construction industry.
- Knowledge of craneage and lifting would be highly advantageous.
- Degree qualifications in a discipline such as Mechanical or Civil Engineering would be highly regarded.
- Experience using AutoCAD 2D and 3D software packages (including Navisworks).
- Strong attention to detail and time management.
- Creative, problem solving and thinking outside of the box mentality.
- Customer service orientation to deliver quality work on-time.
- Effective communication skills to deal with varying internal/ external customers.
- Ability to work from 6am - 3pm to tie in with some overlap with Australia (where required from time to time, otherwise general office hours from 8am).
