Management Accountant required to be the number one finance person on site at a major manufacturing business in Southport (flexible working available).
The Opportunity
Requirement for an ambitious Management Accountant to work for a World Leader within the Rail & Rolling Stock sector. Reporting directly to the Senior Management Team; your financial insight will play a crucial and integral part of business planning and project pricing.
A highly autonomous position, you will oversee the pricing and bid work generated by the business, and line manage a Finance Assistant.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial reports for the business unit across customer sales, margin, operating efficiency (labour, machine etc), inventory.
- Responsible for the Corporate Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting process in relation to costs and overheads to support the targeted sales
- Maintain financial reporting tools and techniques to support business use requirements.
- Ensure financial reports requests are completed in a timely manner to agreed deadlines
- Hold meetings with Site leaders to drive improvements from the reporting produced
- Ensure customer pricing requests are completed in a timely manner to agreed SLA deadlines
- Prepare customer bid responses and support the business with commercial advice and awareness
- Ensure key business projects are on time and cost and delivering the benefits expected once introduced
- Act as the lead Financial person on site and drive commercial and financial awareness across the business
- Line management of 1 direct report; to provide support and personal development
- Work in a safe manner, taking reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work, following appropriate Health and Safety guidance, training and company rules and procedures as appropriate
Essentials
- CIMA qualified ideally, but will consider ACCA qualification or qualified by experience.
- Manufacturing experience.
- Experience of forecasting, analysis and interpretation of financial data.
- SAP experience (or previous use of alternative ERP systems)
- Strong interpersonal skills.
