A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of HR to join our award winning debt charity and be responsible for creating and delivering organisational people plans to meet strategic aims, objectives and deliver people related targets.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer the Head of HR will operate as a member of our Senior Leadership Team and will contribute to the creation of people strategies and provide input to our organisational strategic direction.
The role will provide leadership to the generalist HR function and manage delivery of HR business partnering, HR Advisory, Recruitment, HR Shared Service and Engagement services.

What Will You Be Doing?
Leadership
- Lead the HR functional teams and manage, coach, and develop team members to ensure they are sufficiently equipped to perform their duties.
- Role model the leadership behaviours
Strategy
- Responsible for inputting to the ongoing development of People & Culture strategy and plan
- Responsible for distilling People & Culture strategy and plan into team objectives
Budget
- Provide inputs to annual budgeting process, manage areas of budget effectively and ensure strict adherence to budgetary requirements.
Workforce Planning
- Own the HR demand, capacity, and delivery plans to effectively manage headcount.
- Ensure the effective management of recruitment, working to operational plans and identifying key risks and opportunities as appropriate.
Data & Analytics
- Own the reporting and dashboards for HR related data and suggest focused actions into the charity to positively impact appropriate metrics.
- Oversee the management of the HRIS, including the day-to-day relationships with external providers, identifying risks where appropriate.
- Ensure effective management and administration of all employee records, liaising with the Payroll Manager and Head of Reward to ensure the accurate and timely provision of payroll data.
Reward & Compensation
- Working with the Head of Reward, lead the Team in administering reward and compensation schemes for the organisation, up to but excluding the running of payroll.
Organisational Architecture
- Lead the Team in effectively managing and overseeing organisational design and restructuring activity across the organisation, including working with the Head of Reward in undertaking job evaluation sizing activities.
Engagement
- Connect colleagues to directorate and organisation strategy and enable them to understand their contribution and how they make a difference.
- Provide leadership to the creation and delivery of the organisation's colleague engagement agenda, identifying and resolving risks and issues as and when they arise.
- Create and manage the implementation of the organisation's colleague listening strategy including the Joint Consultation Committee.
Wellbeing
- Create and lead the delivery of a wellbeing strategy for the organisation that improves colleague resilience, health, and attendance.
- Responsibility for managing the supplier relationship with wellbeing provider (currently Vitality) and Occupational Health provision to ensure the Charity is competitive and make recommendations for improvement.
Projects
- Support the Chief People Officer and wider Exec and SLT members in scoping and implementing HR elements of strategic project delivery.
- Lead on specific people projects, ensuring delivery of tangible improvements as scoped in the project plan or outline.
External relationships
- Lead the Team to manage and facilitate external relationships to ensure effective service provision.
- Undertaking and encouraging team members to engage in external networking to ensure up to date knowledge and consider and implement best practice.
Risk management
- Ensure accurate reporting, management and escalation of any significant business issues or risk
- Discharge all responsibilities assigned and perform all tasks, duties and responsibilities with due care and diligence as required by the charity and in doing so have full regard of the FCA conduct rules
What Do We Need From You?
- Substantial experience of managing and leading a large HR team
- Substantial experience of leading people aspects of transformational change
- Significant budgetary and cost management experience
- Sound HR generalist with a good grasp of business partnering, reward, HR analytics, organisational design, employment law and HR policy
- Complex problem-solving skills.
- Strong relationship building and partnering skills
