Location Hybrid with requirements to attend central London office for two days per week.

Competency & Individual Requirements

To provide suitable H&S legally compliant advice, guidance and support to the project, this role requires a suitably competent person to deliver within it

Experienced and with demonstratable competence in HSW risk management development and delivery in complex, multi-organisational projects at a senior/leadership level (including day to day experience and demonstratable competency within CDM management from either/or client or PC role perspective, as well as PD/design).

Experience / awareness of safety culture, behavioural safety, stress, fatigue management and human factors approaches and a readiness to further develop further in these areas

Experience and competency within Railway operating areas and Highways Operating areas useful as is with protestor management/site and personal security. Work on water/reservoir projects would be very beneficial for this role.

Awareness of ISO 44001 standard for collaboration requirements useful

Able to manage a team of reports on a day to day basis

Able to work flexibly within the multiorganizational delivery team, recognising the need to be involved in the development and implementation of practicable, meaningful and efficient approaches

Trained trainer / demonstratable competence in HSW training development & delivery

Energetic, people focused individual who can communicate and interact with others well and who is comfortable liaising with / presenting to the contractual client

Role Requirements

Reporting to and working with the HSW Lead, this role will deliver the below, in conjunction with the HSW Lead, CDM Lead & HSW Co-Ordinator:-

Providing the competent person for HS(&W) within the project delivery team, as highlighted within The Management of H&S at Work Regs.

Developing, updating and implementing project specific HSW risk management systems, processes, Inductions & training that align with and deliver to our project & TW HSW strategy, vision and detailed standards, this include site visit related risk assessments, POWRA and RAMs; HSW competency training requirements; all teams/disciplines processes HSW content/requirements/logistics; HSW risk management & CDM requirements for Soil Surveys; Lone working buddy arrangements etc.

Dealing with HSW incident & Ill Health reports, notifications and leading incident investigation & root cause analysis , managing input into system on behalf of the project and with the production and communication of associated alerts/lessons learnt etc as required

Liaising with the CDM Manager (& CDM Advisor) where required to deliver a co-ordinated HSW provision across the project

Updates to and review of the HSW Management Plan, and ensuring its implementation

Developing; co-ordinating the inputs for & submitting monthly HSW data, reporting & KPI requirements through the dashboard, meetings and TW required portals

Liaison with client in relation to their construction site HSW requirements and embedding these within Technical Partner processes as required; collaborating with them on HSW initiatives, behavioural safety, safety culture activities etc

Developing/supporting the development of and implementing the HSW & CDM Assurance plan and associated activities, ensuring findings are effectively managed to close out and lessons learnt communicated

Working with HSW Lead to progress project based behavioural safety and safety cultural initiatives
