Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 2 x Interviewee Support Officers for initial 23 month contracts on a rate of £216.65/day (Outside IR35). These roles will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.Responsibilities:- Respond to incoming calls and emails via the organisation's dedicated phone line and mailbox- Proactively manage a caseload of interviewees at different stages of the journey- Plan and arrange the taking of statements via private sessions and statement reviews- Be present during statement taking and be able to listen to the experiences of interviewees- Manage the safety of interviewees while they give their statement - Maintain the professional boundaries of the role, whilst still providing appropriate assistance to interviewees- Effectively manage and report risk of harm to police partners- Plan, arrange and support interviewees attendance at Hearings- Support investigations, working closely with the legal team- Be required to use relevant project management techniques to ensure there is a coordinated plan of action in place to achieve desired objectives. There are several sensitivities which will require careful handling and management and there will be frequent dialogue and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.Essential Skills:- Be able to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of individuals and stakeholders- Be credible and ensure that all communication with both individuals and stakeholders is handled with respect, sensitivity, courtesy and professionalism - Be able to handle highly confidential information appropriately - Be able to communicate sometimes very legalistic information in plain English, both verbally and in writing.- Be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision - Be highly organised and effective in managing your workload and balancing priorities to meet deadlines - Demonstrate sound judgement, be able to think on your feet and take personal responsibility for delivery of tasks- Have a high degree of personal resilience and be willing to participate in the organisation's group reflective practice sessions.- Be able to demonstrate that you are an effective member of a team and have regard for your colleagues - Be able to reflect on your own performance in order to share learning with the rest of the team.- Be proactive, and work with the rest of the team and the interviewee support manager to ensure the organisation's engagement with interviewees is responsive, appropriate and efficient- Have the ability to adopt an agile approach in response to working policies and practices as they evolve, is essential - Be required to absorb and understand large amounts of written information in the form of protocol and guidance- Experience or understanding of issues- Excellent oral and written communication skills- Good attention to detail- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads to ensure strict deadlines are met- Good project management skills with a solution focused approach- Highly effective interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with complex and sensitive issues - The ability to make sound decisions, often autonomously and at pace- The ability to adapt to changing priorities and working processes as they evolve- The ability to absorb large amounts of written data - An effective team player- Good IT skillsIf you would like to hear more about these opportunities please get in touch.
