IT Project Manager

This is an opportunity to work as an IT Project Manager for a leading telecommunications company based in Bristol. In this role you will be directly engaging with customers in leadership positions and leading significant pieces of delivery of various nature, ranging from bespoke Network to IT to voice solutions for Enterprise Customers. You will be expected to promote and shape project management methods and tools as well as ensure that your team conforms with governance and standards set out by the PMO. Some of your key responsibilities will involve:
End to end ownership and responsibility of all aspects of delivery.
Creating the environment for teams to succeed (i.e., removing internal barriers, ensuring customer dependencies are met etc.).
Potential to cover any or all stages of the delivery lifecycle.
Complex Work Breakdown Structure.
You will be accountable for:
Leading the delivery of complex projects, programmes or portfolios, which represent significant benefit or risk to our customers.
Building complex matrix delivery organisation consisting of a mixture of dedicated and shared resources.
Acting as a customer champion, establishing customer needs and using operational and technical expertise to resolve customer issues and deliver quality and timeliness.
Setting and agreeing a significant delivery budget and ensuring that costs do not exceed this.
Identifying and managing changes in scope, guaranteeing the application of the appropriate governance.
Building a comprehensive governance structure with relevant customers, client service managers account team and the programme team.
Ensuring that defined methodologies, processes and tools are consistently applied across the projects in scope, in-line with the overall standards set by the PMO.
Working in collaboration with the Practice and Hub Managers, and the Client Services team to ensure consistent delivery to customers.
Providing direction to the team on requirements, scope, timescale, cost constraints and quality expectations.
Ensuring the PMO and resourcing functions have clear line of sight of upcoming demand and contract requirements.
Essential experience and criteria required:
Highly developed project management skills with experience delivering large scale technical solutions to customers.
Ability to work with complete independence whilst also networking and building relationships.
Great stakeholder management skills, working with multiple internal and external partners to deliver great outcomes for our customers.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to interpret Commercial Contracts and identify areas of risk and opportunity.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build a culture of continuous learning and development and mutual support, coaching for great performance.
Must have Security clearance (Minimum SC Level).
