This department sets the standards and governs the portfolio of projects delivered within IT2A.Your responsibilities
- Oversee and transform the portfolio planning and resourcing capability within IT2A:
- Work with senior stakeholders in IT2A and the wider organisation to align planning activities that support the creation of a budgeted and realistic project portfolio each year.
- Oversee the development of an internal resource management capability to ensure that resource demand is understood and fulfilled.
- Ensure that accurate data of our people and projects is maintained to support decision-making.
- Administer IT2A's budget for maintenance projects. Own and evolve processes for the prioritisation of the budget by senior leadership. Monitor and scrutinise forecasts throughout the year so that re-prioritisation decisions can be made with confidence.
- Define and lead programs to lead best practice and increase capabilities across the Project Management community. For example, risk & issue management, planning and estimation, project financial management, stakeholder management. Help develop training materials and deliver training where required.
- Lead the improvement of reporting, processes and forums to ensure the health of the portfolio of projects is clear for senior leaders, and financial information is tracked accurately across all projects. Highlighting concerns and focusing senior management time where it is most required.
- Contribute to new and improved existing internal portfolio management office governance, planning and resourcing processes and ways of working to ensure the services provided by the function are effective and value adding to the organisation.
- Experience delivering one or more central PMO services to multiple delivery teams
- Experience of managing the end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects or programmes
- Experience of IT project delivery frameworks and processes
- Demonstrable stakeholder management and communication skills. Confidence in presenting to large, senior audiences.
- Expert data analysis, problem solving and interpretation skills, including proficiency with MS Excel.
- Excellent numerical skills, understanding of basic accounting principles and experience managing and governing budgets
- Experience leading multi-national teams, with mixed employment types
- Proven track record of attention to detail capabilities
- Experience managing projects with a team comprised of onshore and offshore resources
- Experience of a retail organisation
- Experience of processes in relevant departments (e.g. Portfolio planning, Enterprise Resource Management, Quality Assurance)
- Agile scrum master or product owner experience and accreditation
- Project management qualification, e.g. APMP, Prince2, MSP
- Experience with analytics tools and applications (e.g. PowerBI)
