AWE is looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join the transport training team ensuring the competence of all parties involved in activities regarding Defence Nuclear Weapons and Other Radiological Material conveyed by Road, Rail and Routine Logistical Flights.
Location - Reading / Basingstoke area
Package - £35,950 - £40,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

What will you be required to do?
- Provide sound advice and guidance to customers
- Interpret customer requirements, alongside external good practice, to deliver pragmatic solutions
- Provide clear, concise and appropriate communications to customer groups
- Prepare accurate documentation and information, ensuring adherence to relevant regulatory requirements
- Identify and manage stakeholders appropriately
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of DNM Convoy projects, providing insight from area of expertise
- Act as an interface between AWE and the MoD to satisfy the requirements of the Convoy Contract regarding Convoy Qualified status for all DNM Convoy personnel
- Development and delivery of DNM Initial Training, Role Specific Training and Continuation Training for all DNM Convoy personnel (AWE, MDP, MoD and RM s) on behalf of the HR Manager - People Capability
- Plan, prepare and assist in the delivery of DNM Training Weeks
- Verify evidence collated in Competence Based Qualification portfolios
- Develop, prepare and deliver DNM Convoy Training interventions as and when required
Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:
- A nationally recognised teaching qualification in the Learning Sector (Level 4) is essential for this role
- A nationally recognised assessor qualification (or are willing to undertake training to achieve qualification)
- Proven ability in literacy and numeracy
- Proven ability in using core MS Office products
- Excellent presentation skills
- Proven stakeholder management skills
- Great organisational ability
- Display creativity and problem-solving skills
- Proven team working skills
- Ability to initiate and complete their own work and have high personal standards
- Be willing to attend off site events to support delivery of field training events and other off-site training, which will require overnight stays of up to a week s duration for each event
