Maintenance Supervisor Bedfordshire (MK40)
£45,000 - £50,000
Monday-Friday 3-Shift (6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6) + Weekend Call-Out Cover
(£200 per weekend + overtime hourly rate when called in)
Our client is a leading FMCG manufacturer that is making a huge investment in the factory over the next 5 years. Due to this growth and new production lines being installed, they are looking to grow the engineering function with the addition of new maintenance supervisors to lead the shift engineering team.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide electrical & mechanical support & repairs for all production equipment & site services
- Leading a team of 4 shift engineers
- 80% hands-on - fixing production machinery, mixers, industrial processing equipment, conveyors, packaging machinery, automation & controls, PLC's, SCADA Systems, robots
- 20% hands-off - workload allocation, PPM planning, contractor management, risk assessment
- Supporting the engineering shift managers with project work - new machine & production line installs
- PPM's, electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving, machine upgrades
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Must be an electrically biased engineer by trade
- Will consider experienced engineering team leaders / senior engineers / supervisors or engineers that are ready for the step-up in the career, proactive & driven characters
- Apprenticeship trained or a time-served engineering with mechanical & electrical qualifications
- Must have previously worked in food or FMCG manufacturing
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & problem solving skills
- PLC - electrical fault finding - Siemens
- Experience of carrying out CI projects, new machine installations
- Happy to be a hands-on leader
- Strong communicator, able to influence proactive change management
- Experienced in planning & scheduling PPM work
- Must be happy covering a weekend call-out / standby cover when needed (additional payments)
