Position: M&E Manager

Location: London, UK

We are working with one of London's most reputable, innovative, and quality-driven main contractors, especially in the high-end and luxury sectors and they are looking for two M&E Managers to join their team in London.

Overview:

The M&E Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of Mechanical and Electrical systems on residential construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of M&E systems and experience working with main contractors on residential projects. The M&E Manager will ensure that all M&E works are carried out to the highest quality standards, within budget, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the M&E team, including subcontractors and consultants, to deliver M&E systems that meet project specifications.
  • Coordinate and integrate M&E systems with architectural and structural components of the project.
  • Develop and maintain M&E project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met.
  • Ensure that M&E installations are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Work closely with the design team to review and approve M&E designs and specifications.
  • Ensure that all M&E designs are compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Facilitate value engineering to optimise M&E systems in terms of cost, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures for M&E works.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure that all M&E documentation, including drawings, specifications, and manuals, are accurate and up to date.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Mechanical or Electrical Project Manager or Project Engineer, either with a degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in M&E management for either a main contractor or an M&E subcontractor, preferably with a focus on residential construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems.
  • Proven experience in managing M&E works for large-scale residential projects.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in M&E design software and project management tools.
  • In-depth understanding of building codes, regulations, and standards.
