Role: Network & Security Engineer
Salary: Up to £62,000 + Oncall + Benefits
Location: Hybrid Working (2 Days a week in London Office)
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for the stability and availability of the network infrastructure, including failover test/disaster recovery procedures.
- Responsible for network security, monitoring and reporting.
- Implement best practice for all network configurations inc Firewall configurations.
- Involvement in network team projects.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across varied technologies, taking ownership of issues and seeing them through to resolution. Interact with internal stakeholders and third parties to resolve escalated technical problems and requests.
- Be involved in various other Infrastructure projects, providing network advice.
- Recommend/implement network hardware and software upgrades.
- Perform required maintenance and upgrades, often out of normal business hours and weekends.
- On an out-of-hours support rota for troubleshooting/resolving issues.
- Translate complex networking technologies/design/issues to those with less technical/networking knowledge.
- Proactively share knowledge with peers, including through design, support and incident management documentation.
- Maintain knowledge from the industry around trends and emerging technologies.
Knowledge & experience Qualifications:
- CCNA R&S and one of CCNP R&S, CCNP SP/CCIP, CCNP Security/CCSP, or CCDP.
- CCNP Voice/Collaboration. Knowledge & Experience
- Strong routing knowledge including, but not limited to OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and VRFs. Troubleshooting all of these routing protocols.
- Strong LAN/L2 skills including, but not limited to VLANs, 802.1Q, STP, WCCP, 802.1x, VXLAN.
- Strong support/administration of Cisco wireless technologies - WLC and LWAP APs, AirOS and Catalyst 9800.
- Strong support/administration of Cisco WAN overlay technologies: FlexVPN, DMVPN, and GETVPN. Knowledge of Cisco SDWAN.
- Strong support/administration experience with Checkpoint Firewalls.
- Strong support/administration experience with Cisco Firewalls: ASA in multi context; remote access configurations (eg SecureClient); and FTD with FMC.
- Strong support/administration experience with Cisco IPT - Cisco Communications Manager. Experience with Jabber/MRA/Expressway advantageous.
- Good understanding of QoS and bandwidth management within the WAN and LAN environments.
- Excellent understanding and support of Cisco Router and switch hardware and appliances ISE, WLC, ASA.
- Knowledge of Cisco UCS.
- Knowledge of datacenter technologies and best practices, inc Nexus 9k and ACI.
- Hybrid cloud implementation, in particular AWS, Direct Connect
