Are you a passionate Business Analyst with a flair for regulatory compliance and a knack for stakeholder engagement? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Compliance Transformation team of one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan!

About the Role:
As an Obligations Register Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a crucial EMEA-wide Obligations Register. This is your chance to collaborate with esteemed partners like PwC while working closely with internal teams across Compliance, Legal, Risk, ITSD, and more. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will ensure that our regulatory requirements are met with excellence!


Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering: Elicit and document business and functional requirements across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Regulatory Mapping & Compliance Controls: Translate regulatory requirements into mapped obligations and design associated controls with subject matter experts.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Compliance SMEs, Legal, Risk, and PwC consultants to align on requirements and resolve queries.
  • Governance & Documentation: Produce high-quality deliverables including process maps, control matrices, and business requirement documents.
  • Change Support & Business Readiness: Assist in testing preparations, training materials, and the smooth transition of the obligations register into business-as-usual processes.
  • Insight & Risk Reporting: Identify emerging risks and report issues to project managers and leadership.
  • Quality Assurance & Validation: Ensure alignment with regulatory expectations through thorough review and testing support.
  • Continuous Improvement: Propose enhancements to compliance procedures and register usability for long-term sustainability.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in regulatory compliance, legal, or risk transformation projects within financial services.
  • Hands-on knowledge of obligations registers, regulatory mapping, and compliance control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to mediate between technical teams and SMEs, delivering clear and practical control descriptions.
  • Experience with testing cycles, user acceptance testing (UAT), and go-live planning.
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of EMEA financial services regulations (e.g., UK FCA/PRA, EU regulations).
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with compliance technologies (e.g., regulatory intelligence tools) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business Analysis certification (e.g., BCS, CBAP) is desirable.
  • Experience in large-scale transformation or regulatory change programmes.
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle methodologies (Agile, PRINCE2, or hybrid).
