Human Support Group is a leading provider of domiciliary care and due to expansion, we are looking for a full time Occupational Therapist to hold a small caseload of clients.Your role has three main components that form our organisation s golden thread:QualityPromote the highest standards of care and support in line with the organisation s mission, vision, values and ; Driving quality standards within all aspects of the business, ensuring we re getting better, every day. Leading and delivering on a variety of strategic projects at local branch level alongside the Registered Branch Manager. To contribute to regional and national level projects and meetings with the support of the Head of Practice (Occupational Therapist) in order to evaluate and steer the Occupational Therapy lead reablement ;Supporting with focused Improvement and Action plans both ahead of regulatory inspections and as everyday embedded practice; celebrating colleague s successes when achievements have been made but able to have tough conversations when required.To use clinical reasoning to prioritise, allocate and delegate cases to other members of the team on a daily basis.Be aware of trend complaints, safeguarding, concerns and compliments across the organisation, analysing trends and taking a proactive approach to improvement.Consults with team members and formulate individualised treatment plans using clinical reasoning and a range of treatment mediums.Provides planned advice to customer relatives and front line colleagues to enable understanding of the aims of prescribed Occupational Therapy intervention, ensuring there is a consistent approach to customer care.To advise, instruct and educate front line colleagues on the prescription and use of equipment and moving and handling techniques.Responsible for collecting / analysing clinical statistics and participate in audit in accordance with clinical governance.PeopleTake an active leadership role by being a visible leader in the organisation, driving change and promoting innovation.Actively participate in the education and development of our front line reablement colleagues and support team to continuously improve what we do, ensuring we re getting better every ;Fully embrace and work by the organisation s mission, vision, values and behaviours.Ability to self reflect and actively participate in clinical supervision and appraisal with Head of Practice (Occupational Therapist).To contribute to team development projects including teleconferences, Annual meetings at head office, quarterly project meetings and best practice workshops.Return on InvestmentBeing innovative; recognise the opportunity for the development of pilot schemes and initiatives, not being afraid to challenge norm.To contribute to the promotion and development of the Occupational therapy team attending meetings at head office and regional meetings and to support to development of wider team members.Champion the evolution of the organisation by leading the development and integration of new services or the enhancement of existing services.Your Key Characteristics and Experience
  • Degree / Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • A member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, to work within and adhere to the RCOT code of ethics and professional conduct.
  • Registered with Health Professions Council, to work within and adhere to HCPC standards of practice
  • Experience of facilitating group work (desirable)
  • Evidence of continual professional development portfolio, to demonstrate a commitment to personal CPD and team development.
  • Commitment to the Occupational Therapy profession in willing to enrol of practice placement educator s course and host a student.
  • Commitment to weekend working (if required)

  • Experience of the domiciliary / healthcare sector is beneficial but not essential.
  • Have a basic IT Skills, including internet and e-mail.
  • A good understanding of the application of risk assessment and risk management strategies which facilitates a customer s recovery.
