Sir Robert McAlpine have an opening for a Planner to work on our recently awarded 17 year Sellafield framework for PPP in Cumbria. SRM Infrastructure have been awarded the KDP8 package which includes demolition, earthworks, site establishment and most importantly concrete structures (including 3D rebar detailing).

Sellafield are a Project 13 adopter and these principles are visible through the Contract terms and behaviours of the Integrated Project Team. We are one team, with aligned targets and outcomes. It's a really refreshing contracting mechanism.

We have 3 project entering the Early Contractor Involvement stage of the contract and have the fantastic opportunity to spend around 18 months building these projects as digital twins, and preparing all of the site documentation as well as price and programme necessary in preparation for as true a "build only" experience as we can imagine.

It is our intention to self-deliver a significant percentage of the works on these projects, which gives our engineering and management staff far more control over the finished product - the ability to; optioneer, plan, programme, price, deliver, measure, learn

Location

Initially this role will be based in the Northwest, Warrington with regular visits to Sellafield - the 18 month ECI has been set up to encourage our teams to be together 3 core days per week Tuesday to Thursday.

The Role

The Planner will be reporting to the Planning Manager, and be responsible for managing ECI projects across the Sellafield Portfolio in a collaborative Environment. Managing Cl32 reporting cycle including Earned Value management and Programme Narratives. Working up Construction programme for delivery through the ECI phase. Synchro 4d planning and Collaborative Planning Techniques also to be adopted.

The role requires the individual to operate at a high level working closely with the SRM team and Programme and Project Partners (PPP) Teams to deliver a mix of complex schemes both new build and refurbishment/extensions in the Nuclear Sector.

You will:

  • Establish and implement the Sellafield Planning requirements for SRM within the Project 13 Environment in Sellafield.
  • Ensure compliance to Sellafield/PPP Programme requirements.
  • Support the production and delivery of the Performance Measurement Baseline and Performance Measurement Updates
  • Capture and integrate current and forecast programme, budget, cost, and risk at asset and sub-asset level.
  • Assess the programme and cost impact of various scenarios as requested, change management.
  • Promote best practice and innovation.
  • Synchro 4d Planning
  • Ensure KPI's are met.
  • Effectively using IT and systems as a key enabler for gathering and timely and accurate reporting on project performance
  • Collaborative working

Your Profile

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Good experience/knowledge of planning & project control services within large complex environments within the construction and engineering industry
  • Understanding of various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications with regards to project control
  • Advanced understanding of various methods of project controls, planning and performance reporting
  • Change management - Understanding of the events that initiate and be able to accurate demonstrate delay and entitlement.
  • Ability to work from 1 st principles to produce output-based programmes.
  • P6 Experience essential.
  • Ability to communicate simply on complex subjects.
  • Working to deadlines
  • Client Facing
