Our residential housing client is seeking a Planner working 3 major regeneration schemes working out of Royal Arsenal offices SE18 on a permanent basis

Our clients' larger Group is a developer of residential-led mixed-use schemes, with a passion for creating successful, sustainable places to live.

Based on site at its flagship scheme at Royal Arsenal, SE18, our clients East Thames branch is one of the largest divisions in the entire group with 3 live major regeneration schemes and several others in the pipeline. They cover 3 major schemes delivering 8000 homes with annual turnover of 100m.

Our client supports their wider Group strategies and highlights to all employees and potential employees the importance of a culture that supports safety in the workplace, in offices and sites as well as those of stakeholders, suppliers, consultants and contractors.

Customer Service, both internal and external, is key to their success and a major driver in their business. They also support charitable foundations.

The role will report to Project Management/Senior Planner.

Skills/experience/qualifications

  • Ensure that all works are carried out in a planned, controlled and safe manner in accordance with statutory regulations, current standards and company health, safety environmental and quality standards.
  • Establish the optimal construction methodologies, logic sequences & work outputs.
  • Develop and communicate the optimum project time model through all phases of the proposed project including planning, design, procurement, pre-construction, construction, commissioning, handover and occupation
  • Manage and co-ordinate the programme information from 3rd parties - client, consultants, suppliers etc.
  • Participate in the communication of the programme to the production team to ensure they understand the constraints, risks and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with business planning & control procedures.
  • Input into contractual programme issues (Delay analysis, entitlement assessments etc)
  • Provide programme control through all stages of the lifecycle.
  • Acquire consistent and accurate data from project team and suppliers for measuring progress.
  • Regular progress update of the project programme
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports on progress against programme & input into the production progress reports
  • Develop 4D animations of the project plan to aid digital rehearsal of the project construction
  • Advise the Project Manager of progress and associated issues including possible solutions
  • Assist in the resequencing of programmes to deliver optimised project outcome
  • An excellent appreciation of the issues and challenges of developing and managing project programmes for residential building projects through all lifecycle stages.
  • An excellent knowledge of modern construction methods & techniques.
  • An excellent knowledge of the construction process from feasibility to handover

Skill/experience/qualifications

  • Must be extremely proficient in ASTA Power Project
  • Be able to report and manage multiple programmes across two large multi scheme developments concurrently
  • Skilled in Microsoft office and dashboard creation and reporting
  • Experience working on high-profile projects
  • Assist the project managers in the production and management of reporting responsibilities, produce droplines and report independently to the project directors monthly on project health.
  • Methodical, imaginative and analytical thinker, with practical construction experience combined with sound knowledge of planning, programming and control processes.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to work harmoniously within a team of professionally qualified people and perform effectively and efficiently when working to demanding timescales.
  • Must have enthusiasm, drive and conviction, inspire confidence and bring their own knowledge and that of others together to the benefit of the projects.
  • Candidate will most likely have 5 - 6 years practical on site experience combined with experience of tender stage planning and/or onsite planning within a developer / contracting organisation
  • Education to degree level in Construction or a related fiel
  • ASTA course certificate qualifications
  • Membership of relevant professional body e.g. CIOB is desirable but not essential
  • ASTA BIM basic knowledge is desirable but not essential
