We need Infrastructure Architects specialising in End-User Computing (EUC) to work with high profile public and commercial clients, improving systems that make the everyday easier.

The End User Computing (EUC) Infrastructure Architect role bridges the gap between the Solution Architect, development team, business team and project management. The Infrastructure Architect role will define, validate and promote the right technical solution for a bid, a deal or a project.

Duties:

Effectively write and communicate on proposals.
Present solutions to clients.
Review and design solutions to ensure that the requirements are met.
Share knowledge at an architect level.
Identify, assess and mitigate technical and non-technical issues and risks.
Ability to generate reliable cost estimates for EUC elements of small to large sized projects.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Specifically as a EUC Infrastructure Architect, you will be able to build logical models of infrastructure components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of service architecture in specific business or functional areas. These models will reflect the architecture views and can be mapped to the solution architecture.

The EUC Infrastructure Architect produces detailed component specifications and translates these into detailed designs for implementation using selected products. This role involves working to defines, validate and promote the solution for a bid, a deal or a project (in a project scope / a dedicated scope within a programme) within our team and to the customer.
Finally, working as a EUC Infrastructure Architect you'll assist in the preparation of technical plans, change governance and estimation from many sources to support the full project lifecycle.

Key Activities:

Act as the focus of an EUC Infrastructure Team developing EUC Infrastructure solutions, contributing general technical knowledge and experience.
Set and manage stakeholder expectations regarding EUC infrastructure and services.
Assess current and emergent technology, giving advice on price and performance.
Develop relationships with EUC infrastructure product vendors.
Align the technology with the business and customer goals, identifying benefits and risk mitigation approaches associated with the proposed solution.
Apply appropriate technical standards.
Ensure EUC infrastructure risks are managed, in particular non-functional requirements, including availability, scalability and performance.
Support formal and informal technical reviews to assure quality of the EUC infrastructure solution design.
Own the list of EUC infrastructure concerns, architectural decisions and contributes to the technical risk register.
Coordinate plans and actions with project managers to make best use of available resources, including specialists such as Service Architects.
Own collated EUC infrastructure effort estimates and costs from teams, subcontractors and suppliers for one or more subsystems.
Support the development of team members by knowledge sharing and mentoring.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You will have a range of the following skills and experiences:

Risk and Cost Driven Architecture aware.
TOGAF aware.
Knowledge and experience of common EUC products and services (e.g. Microsoft 365)
Proven track record in leading the development of a range of EUC solutions, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external/internal customers.
Presentation skills

Desirable but not essential:

Risk and Cost Driven Architecture Certified
Alternative infrastructures.
Security and PKI.
Identify and access management.
Desktop deployment.
Configuration management.
Application virtualisation
Service Level awareness.

Leadership Competencies:

Ability to communicate at all levels
Leading delivery tasks to time, budget and client satisfaction
Mentoring

Capabilities:

Requirement Analysis
Ability to complete analysis on systems with unanalysed and immature requirements
Aware of the significance of and can define and negotiate commercial risk on Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs). Can relate NFR to Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics.

Architectural Governance and Validation:

Ability to professionally validate EUC solutions, including costs.
Basic awareness of Enterprise and System Architecture, understanding of business drivers and best practice.

Commercial Awareness:

Recognizes and manages commercial risk in design of Infrastructure.
In particular NFR and Service Levels.

Further Capabilities:

Service Architecture
Basic awareness of relationship between Solution and Service, must be able to support definition of service solutions.
