Role: Principal Risk Manager

Rate: £70 per hour (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
Duration: 12 month contract

Position Summary
As a Principal Risk Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary, directly contributing to the successful delivery of our complex, high profile and mission critical projects & programmes.
You will be responsible for tailoring the project/programme Risk Management approach, within the company Framework. Driving the implementation of robust Risk (and opportunity) management, authoring, and maintaining suitable Risk Management Plans, Risk Registers and leading in the identification and management of delivery focused Risks & Opportunities.
You will be responsible for the appropriate aggregation and escalation of Risks both within your Project/Programme and to the wider company Mission Systems Discipline representatives.
Where required you will evaluate Supplier risks, working with supply chain and commercial to support contracting mechanisms for risk and incorporate them into the project/programme.
You will work with project/programme stakeholders to undertake/lead quantitative risk management techniques, including schedule and cost risk analysis (SRA/CRA), ensuring the project/programme risk exposure is clearly understood whilst managing effective and targeted risk management activities.
Essential experience
- Experience of working within robust risk management governance & assurance within large projects and programmes.
- Experience driving day to day application of focused risk management activities within multi-discipline teams.
- Leading Risk Identification, using a variety of techniques, with stakeholders at multiple levels
- Experience conducting quantitative risk management techniques, including Monte Carlo Analysis
- Experience communicating Risk Management plans, processes and findings (analysis), verbal/written/graphical.
- Experience supporting scope control through Assumptions, Dependencies or Change management (desirable)
- Past experience in complementary Project Specialisms e.g. Project Controls, Planning & Scheduling, Commercial, Finance, Supply chain, Cost Engineering, Systems Engineering (desirable)
