Global leading packaging automation company are looking for an experienced Process Engineer to cover UK & Europe and can offer fantastic career growth opportunities BASIC SALARY: £55,000 - £65,000 dependant on your experience BENEFITS: Company Car Bonus 8% Employer Pension Life Assurance 26 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays LOCATION:Home based with up to 70% European Travel COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Manchester, Birmingham, London, Glasgow, Bristol, Berlin, Paris, Rome JOB DESCRIPTION: Process Engineer, Project Manager - Automation & Development, PLC Programming, packaging machinery You will be an experienced Process Engineer, reporting direct to the Senior Director - Global Engineering, and will manage asset projects covering all aspects from equipment identification and development, testing and fault resolution, specification, contracts and purchasing. You will actively seek and introduce new process technology to meet business specific requirements in the packaging conversion and finishing applications for cartons, labels, leaflets and rigid boxes. The role will involve day to day interaction with other members of the Global Engineering Team as well as local level management teams and employees together with significant amounts of travel between sites. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Process Engineer, Project Manager - Automation & Development, PLC Programming, packaging machinery Key elements of the role are in the identification of new technologies and adaptations of existing as appropriate for site specific project requirements.
You will also: Define and promote quality standards, test methodologies, quality plans and validation documents for the collection and analysis for any and all process machinery. Work closely with the process and finishing / automation experts to review requirements and implement test and machine control procedures for both future and current production machinery. Liaise with key machine suppliers on developments and future technology developments. Improve and sustain the performance of process equipment with any new developments to the market. Development where required of a better material / machine process for cost/quality/technical benefits. In conjunction with the Manufacturing Excellence Team establish and co-ordinate user groups to generate an open, positive, competitive environment for discussion of new technology and resolution of any issues with OEMs. Working in conjunction with other Manufacturing Excellence teams on prepress, print, colour management, cut & crease and finishing projects. Ensure correct validation and inspections processes are in place with new process equipment. Assist in specifying, testing and commissioning the equipment being installed. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Process Engineer, Project Manager - Automation & Development, PLC Programming, packaging machinery Ideally, you will have prior experience within the packaging manufacturing process to include print both web & sheet-fed and packaging conversion & finishing areas. Knowledge of the Carton board Industry Good technical and engineering knowledge of machinery. Implementing and maintenance of best practice across multiple sites. Understanding of printing, and finishing machinery associated with the packaging and converting industries. Knowledge of automation and end of line packaging processes Project management experience and scheduling. Interpersonal skills. SHE awareness - legislative standards / good practice / risk management. Experience in Performance Excellence / Lean Manufacturing Experience in using KPI's / performance measurement / benchmarking.
