Introduction

Our client, a reputable company in the utilities sector is currently seeking a Procurement Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. As a Procurement Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage and oversee procurement aspects on numerous large multi-million pound projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in procurement to make a significant impact on the company's strategic policies and processes, while also leading a team of procurement professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all procurement aspects on numerous large multi-million pound projects
  • Review purchasing processes and incorporate strategic policies to enable efficiencies
  • Implement and negotiate NEC3 frameworks and contracts
  • Analyse, collate, and interpret data to produce reports to assist with project delivery
  • Present procurement reporting on demand and on a monthly basis to the board level
  • Undertake market research and identify and advise on risk management in multiple categories
  • Manage a procurement team of 5, maximizing productivity through 1-2-1 meetings and providing expert support for development opportunities
  • Analyse workload and team productivity regularly to ensure efficient departmental delivery
  • Resolve operational procurement-related issues on a daily basis and escalate where necessary
  • Promote a culture of first-time right to deliver a great stakeholder experience
Job Requirements
  • Significant experience in procurement management
  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes and strategic policies
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data to produce reports
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Leadership and team management abilities
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Process/water industry experience
  • Power generation experience
  • Degree level qualification
  • CIPS qualification
  • Knowledge of NEC3 frameworks and contracts
  • Health and Safety Quality and Environmental qualifications
  • Supplier auditing and expediting expertise
