Product marketing is the process of bringing a product to market and overseeing its overall success by driving demand and usage. It involves positioning and promoting the product to our clients and prospects, and is the intermediary function between product development and generating market awareness. This person will champion the new product release process and be an evangelist for our new releases, sharing passion, excitement and detailed understanding. Product Marketing Manager (PMM) will develop effective marketing strategies to communicate the features and benefits of our new products and releases. Responsibilities will include training the Sales and Customer Success teams on how to sell the product, creating marketing materials that communicate product features, and developing the marketing tools and campaigns to attract new prospects and customers. The PMM will establish timescales for releasing new products and take part in presentation events, both internally and externally. The PMM will be part of a best-in-class marketing function that shapes and upholds Mercury s positioning and communicates the company s messages to prospective and existing clients. Duties and Responsibilities Work closely with the Product Owners and Development teams to understand and agree product roadmap and establish future release plans. Agree on timelines and deadlines for new product and release launches. Collaborate with Product Owners to define messaging that clearly articulates the features and benefits to the market. The PMM will have responsibility for communicating new release information to internal stakeholders, prospects, customers, partners and the recruitment industry media. Produce release notes and other documentation (or other media) to inform, educate and advise clients and prospects. Develop and deliver internal training presentations for the sales, CSM and support teams. Product launches are likely to include a mix of email campaigns, social media, in-product notifications, webinars, events, advertising and PR activity. Have a good understanding of the recruitment process and buyer & user personas. Review and refresh existing product marketing materials. Be able to educate and inform customers of how Mercury helps clients. Stay current on market trends, industry standards and competitors. Support the sales team with bespoke requirements from time to time. Targets & Measures Delivery of each new product releases in line with the respective plan. Min 4 product releases per year, plus 2 Microsoft Wave Releases per year and other service pack/patches/individual feature releases as required. Demonstrate measurable and increasing engagement with our customer base. Qualifications, Experience and Background Knowledge and experience of Product Marketing in a software business The ability to work across functional teams and unite people behind a plan. Project management experience. A keen interest in user/customer behaviour. A good understanding of the recruitment and staffing profession. This role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise and a strong desire to win. Personal attributes Confident and articulate, able to present to an audience. Team player that is equally comfortable leading and collaborating. Happy and confident to get involved. Good copywriting skills, with a desire to break convention to bring the product to life! Comfortable in challenging the status-quo, and where you have the support from your leaders to try out different things. Top-notch time and project management skills, so you can prioritise workloads and deliver on time
