My client are global technical leaders in the design and manufacture of Flame Arresters and Low-Pressure Storage Tank Venting Equipment used widely in some of the world's most challenging industrial process environments.
We require a Project Engineer to coordinate and support project orders in accordance with customer technical specifications and existing ISO 9001 internal/external procedures.
Project Engineer responsibilities will include:
- Conduct document reviews and circulate to engineering team.
- Attend project kick-off meetings with customers and any meetings related to technical documentation.
- Documentation management, for both internal and external customers, you will be responsible for the start-up, management and close out of all project documentation with assistance from the engineering team.
- Ensuring controlled documentation and drawings are distributed and logged for full traceability, including internal and external document revisions with respect to ISO 9001 requirements.
- Liaise with all stakeholders on projects related tasks, including customer meetings from concept through to completion.
- Produce 2D drawings for order-specific design tasks, fabrication purposes, customer approvals etc.
- Attend handover meetings for project orders, ensuring all relevant teams are aware of their responsibilities and the project timeframe.
- There will be some quality assurance responsibilities in consultation with the engineering and QA team, such as signing off specified project critical hold points (i.e., material certifications, NDT, paint, etc.).
- Generate Bills of Materials on company ERP system, as necessary.
Skills & Experience:
- Engineering qualification NVQ Level 3 design or equivalent experience (minimum 2 years).
- Technical and/or mechanical engineering background is essential.
- Ability to create 2D and 3D General Arrangement drawings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Using Microsoft Office package to its full potential, including Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
- Evaluate design feasibility while checking and reviewing technical drawings.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and manage expectations.
- Able to work both alone and as part of a multi-functional team.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
