Unite People are a specialist construction & building recruitment company, working with a successful civils & infrastructure contractor to hire a Project Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of pre-construction, delivery and handover of projects ranging from 500k - 7m in value. You will benefit from working on a range of groundworks contracts for infrastructure, highway improvements, drainage, non-trackside rail and public framework schemes.
The role will ideally suit an individual from an Engineering/ technical background within civil & construction. You will benefit from a strong support team, and a healthy business mix of projects as part of a growing order book.
An opportunity is available for a Senior Engineer, Manager or Site Agent to progress into this role, develop and grow with the team into the Project Management position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all contractual elements of construction on-site, delegating and driving a team.
- Provide input to facilitate successful delivery of groundworks packages.
- Collaborate with clients and designers to understand project requirements and expectations.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and lead project meetings, ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and quality standards on-site.
- Manage and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and vendors.
- Oversee project budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide regular project updates to clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Proactively identify and address potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure timely completion of project milestones and final delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Preferably a degree or equivalent in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Preferably an Engineering background
- Knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
