This is an exciting opportunity to join an expert provider, with a proven track record delivering advanced engineering solutions to large blue-chip clients in markets sectors such as Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Mining, Power Generation and Off-Road Vehicles. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who will be responsible for the management and governance of projects. The ideal candidate will have a relevant manufacturing/engineering degree and a minimum of 3 years experience of project management within a manufacturing environment.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

Responsible for management and governance of projects including (but not limited to) RFQs, Engineering Changes, Continuous Improvements & Facilities Projects. Ensuring projects are delivered to a defined project management plan mitigating risks and resolving any issues to minimise impact. Create and manage project gateways, functional milestones, and deliverables, managing constraints to ensure delivery to project timing and budget is maintained. Co-ordination of defined project life-cycle processes from enquiry to closure exceeding customer expectations, promoting the company core values at all times.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage Projects from RFQ stage through the project life cycle.
  • Co-ordinate APQP across all projects to drive a quality driven culture.
  • Overcome roadblocks and manage risk assigning accountability and tracking through to closure.
  • Communicate project progress & milestones to relevant stakeholders.
  • Arrange & chair regular project meetings as necessary.
  • Produce and manage project documentation to ensure consistency across all projects and programmes.
  • Create and govern project management plans including timings and budget control.
  • Support the Programme Manager in driving accountability for impacts to project progress.
  • Ensure effective communication across project teams and stakeholders.
  • Conducting Lesson Learnt project reviews.
  • Ensure the RFQ process is followed and governed accordingly.
  • Manage, coach, and support the project team in their endeavors.

Qualifications and Experience Levels:

  • Engineering/Manufacturing degree is preferable / HNC/HND advantageous but not essential.
  • Recognised Project Management Qualification (desirable)
  • Management qualification (desirable)
  • 3 Years experience of project management within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent IT skills with a in depth knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project
  • Experience of managing major engineering projects on schedule and within budget
  • Proven Management Experience
  • Experience of APQP Advanced Produce Quality Planning is advantageous.
  • Experience in a customer facing role

The role is based a our head office in Burnley, Lancashire

Working 39 hours per week

7.45am - 5pm Monday to Thursday & 7.45am - 1pm on Fridays
