ROLE OVERVIEW:
My client is a Leading Civil Engineering Contractor that operates throughout the UK but is owned by one of the World's largest construction groups.
They are presently looking to recruit, on a permanent basis a Project Manager with a strong background in Civil Engineering Projects, and ideally with prior experience of Highways & Structures to join their established team in Worcester.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY:
Reporting to the Framework Operations Manager, the Project Manager will have the opportunity to?develop, implement and?support?across the business a range of?project?and business?sustainability strategies and winning future work.
Key responsibilities for the?role?of Project Manager will include (but not exhaustive):
- Leading a team of internal colleagues and external specialist subcontractors
- Developing and delivering a portfolio of highway and structures projects within a framework in the region covering civil engineering works predominantly focussed on highways and structures. The projects range in value from between £250k to £15m and could involve anything from bridge replacement works to new infrastructure schemes etc.
- Ownership of entire project through to the end with full commitment and a relentless drive to succeed.
- Managing site staff performance to achieve the project goals and productivity.
- Providing?health and safety leadership to the operational delivery teams and promoting?behavioural safety improvements.
- Complying?with all relevant HSE legislation.
- Ensuring?policies and procedures of the Business Management System are fully discharged.
- Ensuring?sufficient and competent resources are in place for the delivery of the project and project objectives are communicated.
- Developing and maintaining programmes through the project life cycle and ensuring?works are delivered against the contract programme.
- Leading the project risk management process and ensuring?effective controls are established to support?delivery of the project.
- Ensuring?project opportunities are identified and realised to maintain and improve the commercial project performance.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The company are looking for a candidate with previous experience as a?Project Manager?within an operational environment who possesses the following skills/experience:
- Minimum of a HNC/HND / Degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant subject matter.
- NEC Contract management experience is hugely desirable.
It is essential any prospective candidates have experience within structures including bridges and culverts.
You'll also have a high level of commercial acumen and be a confident and articulate communicator. As this is a leadership?level opportunity, your proven leadership skills will also need to?be demonstrated?as will your extensive IT skills.
