Project Manager - Residential

My client, a multinational consultancy specialising in design, planning, engineering, and project management, are currently looking for several project managers (5 years+ experience) with a consultancy or client-side background, experienced within the private or public residential sector. This is a great opportunity for you to work and develop within an internationally renowned design and project management consultancy.
Your new role
You will be working on new Adult Social Care accommodation comprising 2000 extra care units (including 724 affordable units) over the next ten years and delivering 700 additional independent living units over the next five years. These schemes will vary in size and complexity and have a capex range of between £5m to £40m.
• Project management and contract administration services throughout the project life cycle (RIBA Stages 1-7).
• Establish and maintain project baseline and provide progress reporting throughout the project life cycle.
• Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure that there is a common understanding of brief/programme/costs/constraints/risk across the team.
• Leading the project team - building, motivating, maintaining, coaching, guiding and developing the team.
• Communicating, liaising, reporting to and managing the client on a project-by-project basis.
• Deliver projects within corporate and business policies, directives, guidance and procedures.
• Manage the project management service within fee budgets.
• Manage risks on the project throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage and administer change control from inception through to completion in accordance with the agreed procedures.
• Manage and provide support during the procurement and tendering process.
• Administer the construction contract during RIBA stages 5/6 and control handover of the asset to the client.
• Retain oversight of quality through design/procurement and construction stages. Identify interventions as required.
• Monitoring and report performance against programme, technical quality, financial and KPI targets.
What you'll need to succeed
• Ideally a bachelor degree in the built environment and/ or professional qualification (or working towards) (i.e. MAPM, RICS, etc.).
• Ideally, you will have at least 5 years' experience managing projects in the built environment overseeing the design development stages and have contract administration experience (JCT/NEC).
• Ideally, have experience of managing projects from inception through to completion (RIBA Stages 1 - 7).
• Experience of working closely with multidisciplinary design and cost management teams.
• Good understanding of the CDM Regulations and the roles they require.
• Confident in liaising, presenting and reporting to clients on project matters.
• Ability to lead a project team in a positive and confident manner.
• Ideally, have experience in managing projects to achieve planning permission and other statutory approvals.
• Experience of managing appointments including the main contractor procurement process.
• Proven project management skills with a sound knowledge of construction stage activity.
• Strong IT skills including MS Office suite including MS Project or similar to prepare management level schedules.
• Sound business acumen and strong risk/commercial awareness.
• Understanding of BIM and its inputs/outputs.
• Experience of soft landings at project closure to occupation.
• Ability to make decisions and to act on your own initiative.
• Demonstrate a proactive and flexible working attitude.
• Current, clean driving licence.
