Project Manager (Solar & BESS)

We re working with a leading renewable energy contractor expanding its UK operations, seeking an Solar & BESS Project Manager to join their high-performing team. You ll manage the delivery of commercial & utility-scale solar PV and battery storage projects across the UK from pre-construction through to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple solar PV and BESS projects

• Oversee site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring delivery on time and to budget

• Liaise with DNOs, consultants, and internal design teams to ensure technical compliance, including grid integration of BESS systems

• Coordinate civil, electrical, and BESS installation works throughout the construction programme

• Maintain strict HSEQ standards across all project phases

• Monitor and report on project progress, risk, and cost to senior management

• Support contract negotiations and procurement activities, particularly for battery systems and energy management technologies.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years experience in project management within the solar, BESS, or wider renewable energy sector

• Solid understanding of the UK solar and battery storage project lifecycle ideally from a construction or EPC background

• Familiarity with battery technology, energy storage system design, and grid compliance standards

• Strong knowledge of HSEQ practices and CDM regulations

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
