We have an exciting new opportunity for a Project/Release Manager to Join Resource Solutions as a Workforce Consultant. As an Employed Workforce Consultant, you will benefit from permanent employment with Resource Solutions and will be deployed on an interim or project basis into our clients' organisations, in return we will provide you with an opportunity to develop your skills with ongoing training and professional accreditations!
The opportunity:
This role is part of the cloud migration to support the release activities and will involve ensuring IT Cloud releases keep to -schedule and that that they release consistently and smoothly through non- production and production environments. As release Manager, during the full release life cycle you will be responsible for co-ordinating, monitoring release progress at daily stand-ups, managing release issues, measuring the effectiveness of releases and identifying and implementing improvements to the release process to optimise the migration delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall release planning & liaison with the key contacts to deliver the agreed functionality to the agreed timescales on the cloud commercial insurance releases
- Regularly reviewing release progress against plans and identifying and resolving non project resource conflicts with the cloud migration program alongside the lead release manager
- Regularly reviewing release content and scope to identify and communicate any increase in risk, impact or issues relating to the release as a whole.
- Managing release status communications with key stakeholders.
- Ensuring Release readiness for pre-production and production check points
- Managing resulting warranty periods, ensuring any production defects are identified and resolved in line with business expectations.
- Reflecting on the outcomes of a release and identifying, delivering and communicating resulting process improvements.
- Defining, documenting and communicating the release process to the release stakeholders.
Key skills/experience:
- Previous experience with proven track record of project/release management in large projects/programmes/releases following an Agile delivery approach
- Accredited at foundation level and making progress towards/have attained practitioner level in a PM or Change qualification (eg Prince2 practitioner, ITIL, ISEB, APMP,ISO,CMMI)
- Proven decision making ability
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management
- Expert understanding of end to end IT solutions and the IT delivery life cycle
- Experience of Agile practices
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Good administrative and organisational skills.
- Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks and able to work in a team or on your own.
